February 8, 201115 yr I know many people have a shop dog or two around. Although I'm not one of them this weekend I discovered my own shop pet. Turns out squirrels moved in, tore out a bunch of insulation and rained walnut shells around the place.
February 8, 201115 yr Watch out John, those shop squirrels will hide stuff on ya! Hey where did that pencil go!
February 8, 201115 yr I've got my mascot Shadow!!!! Â He hates the noise but loves going through all the little mazes and hide-holes that are under the benches and around stuff!! Â
February 8, 201115 yr I didn't catch that Randall! Good eyes! Randall Farris said: Dragon, Did you cut Shadow's hair like that? Â
February 8, 201115 yr Hey Randall,Now that you pointed it out the Mohawk hair cut does look like his master, I'm still laughing. RalphRandall Farris said:Dragon,Did you cut Shadow's hair like that?Â
February 8, 201115 yr  I knew something was different, but didn't catch it right off. I love it!!!Randall Farris said: Dragon, Did you cut Shadow's hair like that? Â
February 8, 201115 yr John, I saw a show last night on Animal Planet about this guy who raised a baby raccoon in the house. He went on a weeks vacation and the raccoon, now older, got back into the house and was eating the walls about the kitchen cabinets. Watch out with those squirrels, they may take the scraps and build then a real home!
February 8, 201115 yr okay, I can handle the owl, but I don't like snakes at all. All snakes are bad, even those that won't hurt you, will cause you to hurt yourself! That includes dead, live and fake. rob durfos said: Some of the animals that stop by my shop
February 8, 201115 yr I sure hope that when I go to my lumber pile that no timber rattler jumps out. However I truly don't mind snakes and do like the garter snakes for they help keep the mosquitos down. Ralph
February 8, 201115 yr Author My wife has banned our cats from leaving the house so they will not get to explore the shop. This probably is a good thing though as there are many sharp oily and dirty thing to cause them harm.
February 9, 201115 yr Yes I did, LOL And I'm not worried about the ASPCA or PETA either!!! While he looks young he was around 11 years old when he started getting knots on his back (look on his right side just to the right of his left ear) and was getting hot from so much fur along with hairballs he was coughing up despite me taking him into the shower with me and washing and pulling the dead hair out. Yes, you read it correctly, I have taken both my cats (Shadow & Tiigger) into the shower with me completely unclothed and unprotected and carried them in and held them IN MY ARMS while I got them wet.  (Been doing it since they were kittens). Shadow doesn't like the brush but doesn't mind the clippers (go figure) so since it was summer I shaved his back and gave him a mohawk to match me. I gave him a full clipping a month later to get the rest of his winter fur out. I also do their CLAWS and the neighbors animals too. And of course I touched up the mohawk.Randall Farris said:Dragon,Did you cut Shadow's hair like that?Â
February 9, 201115 yr That is really cool to have an owl coming by your shop. They are nocturnal and really skittish. Maybe you could build a owl box in a nearby tree or up on the eave of your house to keep him around!!!rob durfos said: Some of the animals that stop by my shop
February 9, 201115 yr Dragon, I do commend you and your diligence with your pets. I inherited a cat when I got married. I am the only one that can give her a bath (the cat, not the wife).
February 9, 201115 yr Both my cats actually love it. My little one meows like he's being tortured but both of them love being clean and fluffed. And they both like the warm water beating on them. Kinda like a spa treatment for cats!! And I guess it's an Alpha male thing for them cause if anyone else tries it they're immediately sliced open!!! It's good for their skin too to get out sweat and dead hair. And they go back to smelling good again don't they Randall?Randall Farris said:Dragon, I do commend you and your diligence with your pets. I inherited a cat when I got married. I am the only one that can give her a bath (the cat, not the wife).
