March 3, 201115 yr Making a mini standup bar like item, maple with some perforated stainless in the front and side areas of the bar. Have been looking for some edging to go over the jagged edges of the per metal. found a manufacturer in USA, but they will not sell small amounts... common eh! Any suggestions, will go with plastic material also if it has a good look to it. tks guys
March 3, 201115 yr Go here http://www.outwatercatalogs.com/lg_display.cfm/catalog/2010_master_catalog/page/27 Is that what your looking for? A acetate binder edge from staples might work too. Or cut a 1/4 inch thick strip of wood and use a dremel to router a groove or put a 1/8th zip bit with the last 1/2 inch ground off in your drill press at top speed and clamp a fence to the drill table and run it through like a router.
March 4, 201115 yr Author tks dragon, will go through it later tonight, did see some other u channel in one of their catalogues, trying to get some that looks like metal of sorts, the pvr is easier to work with than real metal. It's so hard sometimes to locate odd items, did find exactly what I wanted in light gauge metal trouble it's in China! and they wanted to know how many containers I wanted! yikes! I need about 40'!
March 4, 201115 yr You may want to try this http://www.quickshipmetals.com/304-stainless-steel/trim-molding.html They have other types of metals so give them a call. A little pricey but I think it's what your looking for.
March 4, 201115 yr Author You are right, it is very expensive, just chatted with them, 3 pieces 8' long of J molding would be $250 + duty+ tax, then I go to usa and pick up. NIce stuff though
March 5, 201115 yr go to your local glass & mirror shop and ask about mirror mounting channel. They should have some thin enough for your needs AND it won't cost as much as a car payment.Option #2 is take it to a metal fabricator and ask them to bend a small bead on the edge. Their bending brake will handle it nicely.
March 5, 201115 yr of course. There is also a machine that can roll the edge. greg fee said: This is 18-20 gauge metal, can they bend that small?
