March 6, 201115 yr comment_48887 Well Friday night started my season of craft shows. I was pushing to get a few things finished that I sold out of around Christmas. Got there around 4:00 pm and this is an outside show. Yep, rain started moving in about 30 minutes after I got setup. All day long they were saying it wouldn't start until around 10:30 pm. Storm moved in early. I had my tent up but the rain pretty much stopped the people from coming by. I stayed until about 6:00 and had a handful of people stop and I think they just wanted to get under my tent. No sales so it wasn't the start I was looking for. Â Oh well, just means I have to work a little harder now. Hoping it doesn't rain the first Friday in April now. Report

March 8, 201115 yr comment_48892  Kind of hard for me to do Craft Shows anymore.    Sure, I "off" every other weekend, but, the "weekend" starts when I get off work at 0710 in the morning.  The work weekends start at 1900 staurday evening, and go until 0710 Tuesday morning.  Guess what I do on my first "off" day? March 8, 201115 yr comment_48891 Hang in their John, it's definitely not your work that is the reason it's slow, it's the weather. Swap meets are the same way, a little rain, folks just stay home. How's Joshua? Any word on how he's doing at the craft shows? Report
March 8, 201115 yr Author comment_48890 Haven't heard a word from him. I got to see if I still have his number and give him a ring. The season is early. I was just hoping for a good start, but we have the next one. I still have work in the shop that keeps me busy. Report
March 8, 201115 yr Author comment_48888 Ron, I sell cutting boards, mostly end grain. I have some pens, seam rippers, bottle stoppers, deer/duck calls, and chess boards. I usually take one of my cedar chest, if I have one and a couple of what ever tables I have on hand. I have some edge grain cutting boards. My biggest seller is the large end grain cutting boards though. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â This was my booth at another location and sorry for the deer in the head lights look, I didn't know the picture was being taken. Â Check out the website: http://www.firstfridaysflorence.com/ Â All items have to be hand crafted and they have to be approved by the show committee before you can have a booth spot. There are a couple of other woodworkers there. I bought my lathe from a guy that only sells turned items. It is a pretty big event here in a small town. Â Report
