March 10, 201115 yr I was asked to do some repairs on 2 rockers from the nursery at our church. One was a traditional type that was just a re-glue so no problems. But the other one is a gliding rocker that has broken one of its 8 pivot bushings. The problem is that I can't find one of these at my local woodworking or hardware stores but I can find them online. But the places that I found sell them in packs of 8 which cost about $80-$100 plus shipping and tax, so the church won't go for that expense and just toss the rocker. The ladies that work in the nursery like that chair, so they would be sad to see it go.  So I am asking if any of you fine gentlemen might have one of these pivot bushings sitting around somewhere in your pile of stuff in your shop that you would be willing to part with? I am happy to pay you for it and the shipping costs out here to Corona, CA 92881. So please let me know here or you can shoot me an email at: allenworsham@earthlink.net  Thanks for your help.  Below is a photo of what I am talking about. These pivot bushings are pretty much industry standard for the commercially made gliding rockers.  Â
March 10, 201115 yr http://store.workshopsupply.com/catalogue/glider-rocker-bearing-hardware-kit-p-1274.htmlI found this kit for $29.95. You may be able to purchase individual components, but at least the kit is cheaper than the ones you found. I hope this helps.
March 10, 201115 yr Heres a link for building your own bearings. This site also sells replacement bearings for gliders.
