March 22, 201115 yr We have a new member Shane Whitlock, I went to his website and I was floored by absolutely gorgeous old woodworking machinery he has restored, check out his Oliver Table Saw! His site is Shane Whitlock Wildlife and Nature Photography. He is obviously a woodworker as well.Go see his sight, you'll never forget his machinery. I have not had the chance to see the rest of his site, the machinery just threw me for a loop, I didn't get past the machinery. Now I need to go out and buy a book on restoring old machinery. I might have found a new hobby to compliment the woodworking.Welcome again ShaneJohn MorrisÂ
March 22, 201115 yr Wow is such a small word Fantabulous, wonderful art Shane and welcome to the neighborhood
March 22, 201115 yr Author I'm just totally blown away Jim, I didn't know we could do that! Machinery restoration has just taken on an art form. I guess it's like restoring that 66 Corvette, when it's done right, it's art, pure art.
March 22, 201115 yr Yep ..... Shane is a good friend of mine from Utah and I sent him and several of my other woodworkin friends an email this evening asking them to review the American Woodworker site and possibly join up as it looks like a good place to hang out. Welcome aboard Shane and I am glad you sent a link to your web site.......if you haven't already done so please take a minute and fill out the "Introduce Yourself" page. You will also find Bob Kloes and Phil Morris on this site Shane. To those who don't know Shane I think that you find that he is an extremely talented individual that excels at just about anything he attempts. Again welcome aboard my friend. ~ Dan
March 22, 201115 yr I double what Dan says, Shane is excellent at anything he does. It is great that he is here. His tool work as well as his photography is the tops!. bob
March 22, 201115 yr Hi Bob, great to have you here too. Nothing like friends being with friends. Besides, anyone with your name is always tops in my book. :>) bob
March 22, 201115 yr Hey Bob, long time no see. I need to get mobile again soon.I’m stuck with rebuilding the transmission in my truck. At $1950 for a rebuilt unit, I’ll stick with the $300 top-of-the-line rebuild kit and do it myself.Bob Kloes said:Hi Bob, great to have you here too. Nothing like friends being with friends. March 22, 201115 yr Ouch! I understand about doing it yourself. I envy guys who can work on vehicles. I never had much talent in that. I know where the gas and oil go, thats about it. Good luck on the tranny job. bob
March 22, 201115 yr Hi Bob Masters, This might be the wrong place to do it, but man I am glad you took my suggestion about joining this site. Welcome aboard. I hope that you get your transmission together soos you can come to OWAMMOs. We have missed you.  We have other Bobs so we might call you Indiana Bob.......... Dan ~ headed back to the shedÂ
March 22, 201115 yr Another website where Shane is the center of attention....well his quality restorations anyway...
March 22, 201115 yr Hey Doug.........we've gotta be careful and not give Shane too big of a head ............again Doug is another good friend that I invited to come aboard. Doug is from back east .... you know .....from one of those "new" states .......... like New York and then go east out on that little island. He and I share a lot of interests including old cars........thus the 442. Thanks ~ Dan  Â
