Budget work bench

Featured Replies

A couple of months ago I showed a picture of a wilton vise that I'd picked up at the flea market.  I finally got around to making a bench for it.  I made the top out of 2x4's along with the rest of the frame with the drawers and side pockets are recycled 1x's.  I filled the top with fiberglass resin which filled in any gaps and hardened the top.  So far it's held up just fine to beatings and if I ever need to I can put a replaceable MDF top on it.  It's very sturdy (it held me up with no problem lol) and the whole thing cost me a total of about $45 including the vice.
