Some people must think i'm crazy

or just plain stupid. LOL Let me clarify, it isn't anyone here that I am referring to. Rather some goofy eBayers that are out for a total steal.

I listed my Majestic Rollerball pen on ebay thinking that since pens are listed there a lot and usually sell well, that I would list mine too. The buy it now price was originally $125 but i changed that to $100. I also put a reserve of $70, a bit low for that pen but it's ok still.

Now, The starting bid was something like a dollar since we all know that the lower starting bids seem to get the bids sooner. The first bid came in fine, but every bid after that has been 25 or 50 cents at a time, no one has bid like 10 or 15 dollars etc. I just don't understand it, do they really think they are going to hit the reserve price by bidding 25 cents?? LOL

I have had many folks over the years tell me to sell on ebay. My furniture is just too expensive and would never get close to what I sell it for. Do you sell at any galleries or art shows? I don't wholesale any more and have only done 1 art show, but I did well and people have no problem spending money on good things. It seems to help that they can touch the piece. I do believe the finish sells well.

I have sold off my web site for years and have pieces in most of the states. That part does seem to work well. Its nice to be able to point people to your web site to see what you do. Way cheaper then fliers. Plus you are exposed 24 hours a day, all year long. Just do a good web site and not be cheap. It does make a difference.

That's why they call it an AUCTION and not a sale.

I sold a bunch of pens at Auction for 80.00.  All old, nib type old INK pens.

The guy raved about how much he got/then sold them for.

I couldn't sell them for any amount of money so I was happy with what I got for them.

And from the looks of his clothes and car, I don't think he made much, but hey, more power to him!!

What's your website?  got a link?

I do have a website but it is a free one and hard to work the way I want since you have to work with what they give you.

Great ideas though thanks.
