April 6, 201115 yr  Today marks the start of showing all the images of my Model Shop. See the earlier post that shows a CAD drawing of the Shop for reference.  The first image shows the South and West walls of the shop including the corner windows and the 9' overhead door.   The second image shows the stationary corner workbench with the lower storage shelves. The top is high-pressure laminate on the original. The bench frame on the original was made from 2" x 4"s and is attached to the walls. I have plans for the workbench that I could download here.   Number three shows the model of my 6" Atlas Metal Lathe and an old vice I got from my late Father in Law. Pretty old iron.. The quarter again show relativity..   Image number four shows the addition of my modeled Kennedy tool box on the bench.   Tomorrow's images will show the drill press, 12" sander, some cabinets and even a trash can! Plus, a nice overall shot of the Project so far. Stay tuned! April 6, 201115 yr Here's the CAD drawing of the bench plans I talked about above. So simple and so functional for very little money. Larry Â

April 7, 201115 yr That almost looks like one of my benches in front but I built the same frame for the back and then set the frames inside like you did and topped them and the benchtop with plywood!! I also screwed a 4 ft x 8ft x 3/4 in. sheet to the back and used that to hang tools on!!
April 7, 201115 yr Sounds like a good design. When I design things like the workbench, I always try to keep it simple; functional and low-cost. My bench design, shown in the first Model Shop post, attaches to the stud wall, thereby allowing the design to be symetrical.Larry dragon1 said:That almost looks like one of my benches in front but I built the same frame for the back and then set the frames inside like you did and topped them and the benchtop with plywood!! I also screwed a 4 ft x 8ft x 3/4 in. sheet to the back and used that to hang tools on!!
