April 9, 201115 yr  While about and about today, stopped in the local Menards store. Was looking for door jamb kits, way too much.  On the way back out, stopped by the clearence display.   Found sanding belts for my belt sander, at about $.97 each!   Went next door to the Lowes store, still looking for door jambs.  Nope, but they could order a set in, for about $5 more than Menards.  While on the way out, stopped inLowes Tool world,  after seeing the "new" P-C 12-1/2" planer, went looking for the blades for it. Why? It seems that the "new" P-C planer is a dead ringer for my Delta 12-1/2" planer, other than paint colour.  Looked at the blades, yep, same ones.  At 29 buck plus change.  Hmm, may have to schedule some moldy cash for a set.   Also at Menards, saw the "new" Stanley "Bailey" chisels.   They were sitting there beside the Irwin "Marples" chisels.  I think I'll pass on both. Some of the other hand tolls as well. A new handsaw? Nope, I've got a "Townsman" handsaw in the shop.  Priced some saw blades for my two ( that's right, two) circ. saws.   Just need a simple saw blade for rough stuff.   Found a couple for around 7 bucks, we'll see. As for that door jamb, my shop might get the order afterall.  The jamb in question has split along the hinge side, yep, right where all the screws go.  Jamb is for an older house, but I think I can "cobble" up just the inner half of this 7" wide jamb.  A few 1x6s, some weather stripping, and a couple of saw cuts, should do the trick.    Jamb was also broken out on the latch side, so the same tricks might work there as well.   At $5 per 1x6 x8" , seem alot better the $50 per door!  Â
