Dan Mangile's Shop - Oliverland

Featured Replies

First welcome to my good friend Dan Mangile and as mentioned in my comments on his introduction he and Wendell are so humble we might not get them to post many pictures so I happen to have several as Dan Mangile shop is like full of vintage Oliver woodworking machinery.........thus the nickname "Oliverland" ........I suppose you could call Dan .... Olivertwist(ed), but we will let Jim Page or some of Dan' other friends chime in on that idea.

Anyhoos Dan has a super ...... repeat super woodworking shop that I think you will enjoy. He does great machinery restoration work and like Wendell's shops ..........after I visit these gentlemen's shops and fine machinery it makes me want to come home and bulldoze my sheds and sell my Deltas at a garage sale......... ho ho! I am fortunate to have both of them for friends.

Here are a few pics of Dan Mangile's Oliverland.....more to come later.....

Here is Dan with one of his many Oliver tablesaws..........

Thanks for the pictures Dan. That is a great shop. I bet he has a little of everything there. I remember hearing about the 3 phase router. I can't wait to see more pictures. Thanks for the beginning tour! bob

Thank you Dan, great pictorial on our new friend Dan Mangile. What a great shop, and what a great looking bunch of friends in those pics too! Looks all are having a wonderful time, and just doing what woodworkers do, envying the other guys stuff!

Thanks for posting Dan

I recognize that place!  Dan's not exaggerating, Mangile's got, what 3 or 4 big Oliver Table Saws along with everything else you see there.  I was fortunate enough to get the tour last October on my visit out to the heartland.  My favorite machine in Dan's shop is an old miter trimmer.  I forget who the maker is.  Thanks for the tour.

Having visited myself, I'll always think of that place as an equipment Disneyland.

What,, no pic of the ginourmous disc sander?

What a great shop. Thanks for sharing. That is intersting about the 3 phase router, never hear of one but sounds very intersting. Makes my little shop look like a sardine can... LOL. Someday ... someday..

Best Wishes

While you were all googoo-eyed over the equipment, you probably missed the walls.  Every tongue-and-groove board was machined from lunber shorts like the ones in the stack in the background of a few of the pix.

Hey Dan, I saw them, and I was just to sick and jealous after seeing the rest of the shop to make a comment. Sometimes I just want to throw all my stuff away and start over!24.gif
