April 13, 201115 yr  Some time ago, I designed and built a table for my Delta 22-560 that has large infeed and outfeed tables that stretch out to about six feet that virtually eliminates snipe.  Here's an image of it. Plans follow.  Larry     Â
April 15, 201115 yr That has potential for me Larry. I have a 22-580 so its a natural fit.  I wonder why I couldn't modify the infeed and outfeed tables by putting them on a "slide."  Since the Delta tables flip up you could save about a foot on each end in storage space by folding the planer tables up and sliding the feed tables in. HmmmÂ
April 15, 201115 yr Ron..When I designed it, I wanted the longest infeef/outfeed table distasnce I could get to try and eliminate snipe. It worked. You could also hinge them to fold up, but I would keep the lengths the same. Sliding tables might be hard to make and still maintain perfect horizontal alignment.Larry
April 15, 201115 yr I agree and after I posted I had the same thought. Here's a bummer for a Friday. I just turned my planer blades because I wanted a nice smooooooth cut on a project I started and I ran the first pass through and somehow I have a small nick in the blade. I was being ever so careful. Oh well, I guess that's what they make sandpaper for.Â
April 15, 201115 yr Ron..Loosen the blade hold-down bolts a litte on both blades. Then, slide one one way and slide the other one in the opposite direction and re-tighten the bolts..If the nick is not too big, it will be covered up by the second blade. You will note that the blade mounting holes are elongated for this reason. Hope this is clear.  It should work. Let us know.Larry
