Seeing Cut Lines

Featured Replies

I have a cateract in my left eye that won't be fixed until June. For the time being I'm having a lot of trouble seeing my cut lines. I've been making dark pencil lines but the're hard to sand down.

Question is -- What do you use to mark your line so that they can be seen?

I use a pencil but if you have trouble seeing the line it can easily be fixed.

Use a piece of blue tape along the marks and you won't lose sight of the line.

Go to a Art store and look for a Charcoal pencil that is wider and darker.

There's also Colored pencils but you need to be sure you get the kind that are made with NO WAX in them.  Otherwise, it will wreck your finish.

Yep, I agree with the tape.  I'm one eyed due to a detacted retina about 10 years ago and I've used that trick alot.

I have used those ink roller ball pens (not a ball point)...but you really have to sand to remove the line.

Have you tried using a big pencil eraser to help remove the thick line first, then sand. That's what I do and helps a lot.

I used the blue tape yesterday and that helped a lot with the cuts on the T/S. I'll slao be looking for a charcoal pencil for lay outs.

Thanks for the info.
