Portable Router Table

Featured Replies

Some years ago, I had an idea, (not new, for sure,) that I could design and build a portable Router Table using a high-pressure laminate "sink dropout." (I'm kinda frugal, AKA "cheap.")

Most any good Cabinet Shops will just give you one, because the Customer paid for the counterop materials before they were made.

This one is pretty light, but strong.  The fence system moves and adjusts very easy due to the guide slots.

Mine is clamped to an older Balck and Decker "Work Mate" work table with two clamps attached to the bottom feet of the Router Table and the two sliding tables in the B&D Workmate.

The fence also has a dust port on the top of it to attach your poratble vacuum to.

I also wired an off-on switch with an outlet for the Router power cord and to turn the Router on annd off.

Here's the plans..  Note there are no specific sizes.  Design yours around the size of the sink drop-out you get.
