April 18, 201115 yr  I'm going to be back in my shop soon. After 40 years of allergy problems, I finally gave in and saw a specialist. He tested me in about 70 places and came to an unexpected conclusion. I am allergic to Cats and Dogs. Cats more so than dogs. How can that be, we have had a dog since we was married in 68? Anyway, I am being treated for it and am responding well. As for wood dust allergy, I don't have any. But the dust is an irritant to everyone and I must take all precautions. I am itching to turn something on my mini lathe and think I'll start with it. Maybe something small like salt and pepper shakers. I have glued up some interesting combinations of wood and may get started Tuesday. Â
April 18, 201115 yr Alright Ron!!! Welcome back sir, I was wondering when you were going to be able to make some sawdust again. And your absolutely right, allergies or not, dust protection is a must.Â
April 18, 201115 yr Good Deal Ron, Glad that it is something they can treat and get you back in the shop. Always take precautions with the dust anyway, but keep us abreast of the shop adventure.
