Pretty neat. I don't know if I could keep all of those rows straight.

Hey John, you probably get good after a few 1000  Grin.gif

Your probably right Ace, He made it look awfully easy to stay in line.

I know that is what I thought!

Moving up in an angle and keeping the spacing was pretty neat.

I guess I thought they were all just punched out with a machine.

John ....... In mass production they are made by probably several dozen rasps per minute per work station or process

The thing that I thought was the neatest part of the video was that curved handle hammer the one gentleman had that was making the indentations by hand. When I get the time I am going to make one of those cause I can see for some operations they would be the bee's knees.......

One thing that I disagree with is the sand blasting of the rasps after heat treating them unless he was using extremely soft blasting media .......otherwise if it was sand or glass beads he is in effect dulling the cutting edges the they worked so hard to produce by hand. I would have chose a file card to clean them up after the heat treating process......I cringe when ever I see someone use a powered wire brush to clean a good sharp file or rasp........an old school piece of hillbilly engineerin is to take a piece of chalk and "fill" the groves of the file on occasion during the filing process.........it keeps the file from "filling up" so quickly........
