April 22, 201115 yr Gee it been awhile since I last was on here and I promise some pictures of my son bookcase that I made. He just wanted something plane and simple. Made it out of rough cut flat sawn white oak from the man I found locally. It measures 24" tall x 19" wide x 11 1/2" deep if you includes the face frame. The top measures 20" long x 12 " wide. My wife says they are more of the size of a night stand. I don't remember which one it is in the picture, one of the bookcase is the one I had my oops. Was doing rabbit cut and a dado cut with my plunge router and the clamps I was using for board fence slips both time toward the end of the cut. Was able to hide them both. Dado cut was for the bottom shelf and to see it you would have to turn the bookcase upside down. The rabbit cut was for the what I call top support. It would be on the top back inside corner. It is nothing fancy. He want light color stain / finish. I use Min Wax Natural and 4 coats of Lacquer. The back panel is just1/4" Birch plywood that I got from Lowe's. I had to do a wash on the panel to try to match the stain on the white oak. The wash was basically 4 part mineral spirit and 1 part Minwax Early American ( I think). May have use Cabot Early American. Any way the match was so close I went with that. Hope the pictures came out on this. First time for me posting pictures.  Wayne  Â
