April 22, 201115 yr hello, just wanting to check, does any of you have a pattern for a small lighthouse, like in the 12 to 18 inch range. i can find the big ones that are six to eight feet range. i need a small one for a shelf in the house.?
April 22, 201115 yr I have a few for the taller ones. I will look when I get a chance to see if I have anything smaller. Maybe something for the scroll saw that could be converted? Another thing that can be done involves a lot of math. Devide the demensions done to get the size you are looking for. For instance if your pattern stands 72" tall and you wanted to be 16 inches the formula would look like this. 72 / 4.5 = 16. To find the divider first divide the original heigth (72) by the wanted hiegth (16) and this gives you 4.5. Then use the 4.5 to divide all the pther measurements by to get the proper size of each peice. Record these numbers and use them to create your "down sized" version. I hope this isn't too complicated, but it involves a lot of math and some time. Don't forget to thin down the thickness of the boards also. If the original plans called for 4/4 or 3/4" wood, a peice this small you could easily get away with 1/4 or 3/8 thickness.Best WishesWayneÂ
April 22, 201115 yr Just take the plans to a staples, alpha graphics or other printing place and they should be able to make the plan the same size you need.
