I got some mother of pearl dots several weeks ago wanting to use them in knife handles.  I was able to get 2000 of several different sizes so I decided to try some of the smaller ones in a pen. This is the result, purple heart with maple celtic knot and mother of pearl inlay.

Really nice Josh! Do you have an indexing head on your lathe? Do you have a jig for drilling the blank?

Very Nice!!!!  i'm finishing a couple of mini goblets that will have a ball of red velvet stuffed with steel wool to make them into a pin cushion. i promised my lovely brides two sisters i would make them, about 13 years ago and never got around to it.  but they're almost done and i have two pen kits to start on next!!

over on the ShopSmith forum, a buddy turned a couple out of some red dyed spalted maple i picked up at a store closing. neither one of us had really thought about messin up pretty wood with dye, but that stuff came out GREAT!!

 

WoooHooo, you have stepped it up another notch my friend. I love the pen. That is so awesome.
