April 25, 201115 yr Some time ago, John Moody got some huge parts to make an overhead dust collector that must have come from the Titanic. He asked me to design an enclosure for him. Because the parts are so big and some of the dimensions were a little ambiguous, I agreed to provide him with a conceptual enclosure design whereby he can determine the final panel sizes. The dust collector I have in my shop is a Penn State 650 CFM kit unit. I built the cabinet for it. Here's three images of mine, then the plans for John's will follow.  Larry   Image one shows the aluminum mesh pre-filter. The wand with all the holes in it is for cleaning out my three section "Bag filiter" shown in image two.  Just turn on the vac and stick the wand inside the filter and move it around to remove the trapped sawdust.    Image two shows the three-section bag filter in it's frame. Note the rabbets on the front of the box that accepts the pre-filter. The design shows this too.      Number three show two plastic strips I attached to the back of mine. It's running. When the strips sart to droop, the filters need cleaning.   Here's John's plans.
April 26, 201115 yr Ron..Because of the size of the parts for his dust collector he has, he better hold on to his shorts, too!He hasn't responded yet. Larry
April 26, 201115 yr Thanks Larry, I was out yesterday for a little R&R. Took to the golf course for a little time away from everything. Looks good, I will have to get started on it, but first I have been attaching everything to the counter tops to keep them from getting caught in the filter. I'll have a few questions, but I will post them later...
April 26, 201115 yr John maybe you said and I didn't catch it but where did that double blower originate?
