April 28, 201115 yr For some years now, I have tried to pre-finish all the components prior to assembly that go into the furniture I design and make.I have found that the extra effort to do this results in a piece that looks very nice and has virtually no stain anomolies and an even distribution of the finishing processes that I have Blogged about in the past. So,if there is enough interest, I will start to write a Blog about pre-finishing and post it. Might take a little time.Interested?LarryÂ
April 28, 201115 yr I would love to hear about this Larry. I do certain things before completion, but am always looking for new ideas. And you seem to be the man . I know of an older man who was a patternmaker who invented his own sliding dovetail machinehttp://www.richlinemachines.com/index.htmlHe does all his finishing before assembly. His sliding dovetail machine works wonderful. bob
April 28, 201115 yr One of the projects on my hit list has curves, a couple of shelves and other hard to get to places. It might just look better if it was stained before hand.Go for it Larry. Anything to make it easier I'll go for.Harry
April 28, 201115 yr Yes Larry, I too will be interested in your procedure. Knowing how detailed you can be, I suspect this will keep you off the streets for a while.  Be sure and include the quarter. Leo in AZ.
