May 1, 201115 yr Here is another wonderful Work Bench Magazine entry for your enjoyment. There are some great projects in this issue, the Ladderback Arm Chair on page 20 is a good one, the Magazine Stand on page 17 is a timeless classic with a great drawing, Shop In A Workbench Part II which is a continuation from the last issue I put up, it features the build of the RAS work station. I posted those plans for Brent Cashion at the last issue post. Patio Furniture on page 26 has some great patterns and advice on building an Adirondack style folding chair and lounge. One of my favorites in this issue, is the Spoon Rack in Walnut, a classic country style rack to hold cups and spoons with great drawings. Twisted Pedestals for the turners here is a great article on page 48. Check out the "Women's Page" man was it a different time in the early 60's, can you imagine a "Women's Page" in any woodworking publications of today? The Women's department features a Sawdust Mache Duck the lady of your life could form from your leftover sawdust, wow, times have changed thank goodness! So, as usual, if you guys see anything you like, let me know and I'll post the PDF here at this discussion. Have fun!
May 2, 201115 yr Let's see, I was a whole ten years old in May of '63.   About this time frame, I was building a radio kit.   A box came to the door, some sheet metal inside, and a LOT of parts, including a few "tubes".  Yep, this was before Transistors became common.  Everything had to be soldered together.   Wires everywhere, and all had a twine wrapped around to keep things neat.   Called a "Star Roamer" radio, it had 5 bands to choose from.    Shortwave radio for a kid.
