My other Hobby..

Featured Replies

Besides Woodworking and harassing TPW members, I like to design houses using my Windows 95 Canvas CAD program.

I now have about 30 designs ranging from just over 1400 square feet to well over 3000  square feet. (Daughter's home I just finished for her and her Husband.)

All designs are unique and contain features not normally found in regular construction.

The first one, assuming you would like to see more, is the "Avalon" that I designed a few years ago.

Here's the plans.

I should have noted that all but three are my original designs.  Avalon is mine.

The other three are variations of existing designs.

Hey Larry, nice plan!!!

You may want to put a closet to the right side of the great room that would have it's back to the master bathroom to hide water noises, allow access to the plumbing and put guests coats in.

Thanks, Mike.

Ya better "spalin" that one to me.  Which closet?

There will never be the perfect house plan..

Looks like lots of fun if you don't have to do it for a living. I use Chief architect it works pretty well too.

Jim..

Tell me about "Chief Architect."

Larry

Put in a closet IN the great room on the side that has the master bathroom wall.

Sorry, Mike..

That would look terrible and take away the valuable wall space in the Great Room. Not to mention the very bad traffic pattern you would create.
