May 18, 201115 yr Hi guys, I read the manual on my new saw to make all the adjustments before starting to use it. I have found that the fence is not perpendicular to the table top. There is no mention of it in the manual and I can see no way to adjust it. Has anyone else had this problem with this saw. I have an email into Bosch service center but that may take several days to get an answer.ThanksDan
May 18, 201115 yr Dan, you may try calling before waiting to long. Some companies just take forever to answer. Bosch seems to take good care of customers, so it may work out good for you.
May 18, 201115 yr I second Bob, give them a call. Most companies have an 800 number for support and they will know the equipment. This is a new saw also right? So there could be warranty issues and I wouldn't wait on an email answer. Â
May 18, 201115 yr Author Thanks guys. I called Bosch. The girl read the manual over the phone to me. Told her that was not the problem. I had already made those adjustments. They turned me over toa service tech and he said there are two little phillips head screws on the back of the fence, loosen those and make my adjustments. Great customer service, wish they would have added that to the manual though.Dan
May 18, 201115 yr Great Dan, Glad you got the problem all "squared" up. Even if the person you get on the phone sometimes can't help, they may be able to get you to one that can.
May 19, 201115 yr Author Well, I tried adjusting the two phillips head screws on the back of the fence. That did not work. I am going to Portland, Oregon on Friday for some supplies. I will take the fence to a Bosch service center and have them take a look at it.Will let all know what happens.Dan
May 21, 201115 yr Author Hi all, just thought I would pass this on. I took the fence to the Bosch service center here in Portland,Oregon. They agreed it was not perpendicular to the table. They checked the fence on their saw, it was worse than mine. Evidently there is no way to adjust the fence on the Bosch 4100 Contractor Saw. They offered to replace the fence with a new one from the factory but could not guarantee that it would be any better than the one I had. I have sent an email off to the Bosch folks explaining all this. We will see what they offer up for a solution to my problem.Dan
May 21, 201115 yr Boy if it is that bad Dan maybe they should either replace the saw or give you a refund for a new one. Did they think the problem was with your saw also? Hope they give you an answer, but again, I think I would go ahead and start with the phone and go up the line until you get the solution you are looking for.
