And now the rest of todays chores.     Worked on leveling that top.    Quickly found out that Ceadr don't light handplanes.   Grain has more twists and turns than a wild mouse!    After trying a couple of my planes, I got out the belt sander and got things looking better. Gonna take a lot more sanding a-fore this puppy is done...

After sizing the long panels, and getting them ready to raise, I glued up a few more blanks.  Two for the lower back panels, and two for the drawer fronts.   Too many items for what clamps I've got, so i just ganged up on them:Glue in every other joint, hey it works.   As for that mortise I was chopping out the other day:Not too bad a job..

Now, WHAT do I do with all these short pieces?all under 11" long.   Some are glue-ups that weren't needed.   This is MOST of the scraps from this project.     Hmm, a few small boxes, maybe?

Few small boxes, some bird house, bird feeders, lots of options.

 

 

Cut them up and put them in your drawers.

 

line a closet?

 

glue them up and carve a duck.

 

 

With the grain patterns I seen with this I would think they would make really great small boxes or even a desk top organizer. Possible even a mantle clock would look nice.
