Good Morning Friends,

When you are out in a forest and  you look up and see a large bulge on the side of the tree. Does that mean the tree is no good for woodworking?

 

It might be an interesting "Burl"??

I love those hernias that have such beautiful interiors .

It's a burl, though I have not worked with burl, I absolutely love everything that is made from burl. Now with my luck, I go to cut the burl off, and it's a bee hive! Yikes!

Yes, you all are right for it is indeed a burl that can provide some very interesting figure as well as if sliced thin enough could add some charm to a project in the form of a veneer.
