July 4, 201115 yr I chose this Forum because it's the most popular, and this post is more of a tutorial than plans. The following are progressive drawings of how to make a drawer front from part of a table apron. Following the drawings, I'll show you an image of a small chair-side table I designed and made using these methods. July 4, 201115 yr Hi Larry,That is a new slant on the project and it looks good. However I cut one out of the apron by cutting it out from the back side and when assembled it matched the apron perfectly. I would show a picture but, I forgot to upload the picture.
July 5, 201115 yr Ralph and others.. Thanks for the kind words. There are several ways to do this. I just like to do it this way because it gives you some latitude when doing the final sizing of the components. Lare..
July 5, 201115 yr Very timely post for my grandson and I. We are building a table. We will be doing this shortly. I have never done this before and have been thinking about the best way to go about it. I was tinkering with the idea of cutting a solid piece out of the solid stretcher and not doing any gluing, but it is a one shot deal that has to be prefect the first time ;-))
