July 6, 201115 yr So when you are working on a project, do you ever get side tracked. You know you think of something else you need to do or have been meaning to do. Â Today I was going to cut the stopped dado's in the bottom of a cedar chest. I had my router table mounted at the end of my old table saw, but since I got the Unisaw my table would not fit under the extension like before. So I needed a fence since I don't have the fence from my table say to use now. Â So as I was getting ready to cut, I realized I needed a fence for my router table. Â So I grabbed some plywood I had and got started. Â I went everywhere here and couldn't find any knobs, so for now it has winged nuts. I also have a dust port ordered for the back. Â The front plates open and close for the bit size. Anyway I got side tracked with this but I did get the stopped dado's cut. Â Keep moving on. Cedar chest will be finished soon. July 7, 201115 yr John Nice job on the fence. I made mine for my router table too. I used melamine and added some track for stops and put a bit cover over mine. This is what mine looks like. I also made it so the opening was two piece slides. Allowing a smaller opening for shorter bit but accommodates the taller ones also. Not as tall it stands about 5 inches high. The dust collection works wonderfully though.  Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
July 7, 201115 yr Author Very nice Wayne. I like that. I will probably change the front pieces to Melamine. They are on there now so they are removable. I didn't have any T track in the shop right now that is why I did it that way.John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
July 7, 201115 yr I like the tall fence. It gives you a place fot clamping feather boards and really adds to the work piece stability.
July 7, 201115 yr Author Thanks Lew, that is kinda what I had in mind as I put this together. I didn't have any melamine handy so I made the front faces to they could be removed. I will replace them with another face in the near future. I will also add some t track with I change them out.  John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
