Eye Care

Featured Replies

Summer is heating up and if you are like me, you have fans to help circulate air to say cool. Fans are great for that purpose but they also move dust particals. And I always get a speck of something in the eye. I now keep a bottle of eye drops or instant tears on hand just for that reason. As soon as I detect a foriegn object, I give it a good squirt. These drops have really become a main tool in my shop.

Steve, great suggestion. I too use fans in the shop and have those in my First Aid kit that is in the shop. Several things to keep in a good kit.

Of course band aids and I like the fabric type.

I keep a small bottle of super glue for those small cuts that just seem to happen.

eye wash or instant tears

gauze

Antiseptic cream

Tweezers for removing splinters that I can still get a hold on

Alcohol, Rubbing kind only.

So what are some of the first aid things you keep in your shop?

Pretty much the same. I seem to be prone to serious splinters as I use a lot of plywood.

Dang good advice Steve, thanks for chiming in with the safety tip of the week. I just rub em till they get red and irritated, drops are going to be in my shop tomorrow, thanks again.

I have a small first aid kit in a plastic box. I added a pair of nail clippers for splinters seem to work much better then tweezers. The band aids are the fabric type, which I was happy to see. Added eye drops for irritation and some regular hand cream.
