WOODWORKING QUIZ for 08 JULY 11 "a learning tool"

Good Morning Friends,

As mentioned in the last quiz feeding the piece of wood into the router from the left side with the board or curved piece of wood between the fence and router bit. What would be a safety feature you would use to avoid getting your fingers into the bit?

Push sticks or pads.

Good morning  Fellows,

Great answers and one other point I would like to add is to feed the workpiece through from the left side between the bit and fence to avoid any kick back for the bit is turning counter clock wise and if fed from the right would have a tendency to grab the piece and cause it to be pulled into the bit too fast to really get a good cut.
