July 15, 201115 yr Good Morning Friends,You have noticed that your table saw blade is starting to burn as you are ripping a work piece. What is this telling you that must be done to eliminate this from happening?
July 15, 201115 yr Clean it. Sharpen it.I don't work a lot of resinous woods, so it usually mean a trip to the sharpening shop.
July 15, 201115 yr feed rate maybe off for the type of wood you are using. Â Â Some take a higher/lower feed rate.what is the grain like? Â piece maybe binding as the cut progresses. Â Â is the kerf opening up as you cut? Â Â If you are relying on just a splitter, there may be some binding going on on the area around the splitter. Â Finally, what tooth count is on the blade? Â Too many teeth will also cause some burning.
July 15, 201115 yr Keeping your blade clean, sharp and alignment are all very important. Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
July 16, 201115 yr Author Good Morning Fellows,Those of you who chose the cleaning, sharpening and alignment are right on target and this is why I keep a bottle of Simple Green handy for it takes longer to remove the blade from the saw that it does for cleaning the blade. That is also a good time to have a look for missing carbide tips. I mostly use 40 tooth blades that have the correct setting for smooth kerfs in the wood.
