Good Morning Friends,

With the ever changing weather in parts of the country what are some ways that we can take advantage that will help the environment in each local as well as to make for cooler living arrangements during the summer months dog days as some call them?

Plant trees. Save trees. Responsible new design/construction for efficient cooling. Geothermal installations.

Window treatments of blinds and such help. I have also seen homes with window tint applied to the windows and patio doors blocking out the sun, but still allowing you to look outside. You can't see in them either so it offers some security that way.

Good Morning Lewis and Wayne,

You are both right as well as to insulate the walls and ceilings. Yesterday's heat index was 106º and they had air quality advisories out for people with breathing problems. My shop however never went above 74º with no air conditioning due mostly because, I have insulated well in the ceilings and walls. I open the doors and one window with a box fan running continuously to move the air around the shop. You can go outside and walk toward the door and feel the cool air coming out of the door.

Thanks for your support.
