July 24, 201114 yr Good Morning Friends,When installing a door in an opening and using the level to assure the door is true and plumb, what other method can you use to be sure the door is hung correctly?
July 24, 201114 yr A plumb bob? The door should stay in any open position without swinging either open or closed.
July 24, 201114 yr  I also look a the gap all around the door,  and then at any reveal that might be present.   I don't want any reveal at the latch side, or, if the hinge side has some, then the latch side must match.
July 24, 201114 yr You can also use a carpenters square to check all your corners to makes sure your jambs are true. You can also open the door partially and see if it moves in or out on it's own. If it stands still you a pretty close to plumb. Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
July 25, 201114 yr Author Good Morning All,Wayne, has given the answer I was looking for because if the door is true and plumb it will stay where you put it when opened and you can rest assured the door is plumb.
