WOODWORKING QUIZ for 27 JULY 11 "a learning tool"

Good Morning Friends,

You have bought a new front door for your home and while installing the trim you accidenally put a ding in the trim with the head of your hammer.

What would be a quick cure to mend that ding?

an old wet wash cloth and an electric iron to heat/steam the defect. it might be enough to pop out the dent.

I am going with Lew on this one.

I'll go with Lew on this, provided it didn't come primed. If it did you would have to sand the primer off, feather the edges and then give it the steam treatment.

Good Morning Fellows,

You are correct in the answers given for the only thing damaged would have been your ego. Since the fibers in the wood were crushed a little all one would need would be a damp cloth and an iron to swell the fibers back to their original position.
