I have been wood working for the past 20 or so years but have never really had a dedicated place, er shop. My wife and I had a new house built about 7 years ago and I immediately took over the garage. My woodworking focuses mainly on hardwood furniture. I have built tables, cabinets, entertainment center, computer armoire, clocks and various other pieces. My favorite wood work is walnut, I absolutely love how it smells, machines and finishes.

I am the father of 4 boys, 2 from a previous marriage and my wife had 2 boys as well. The oldest is currently in college and set to graduate next year from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. I am very proud of him, he has done a wonderful job.

I am a paramedic and work for a very busy metro system. We cover almost all of Kern County, the 3rd largest in the state. I am blessed with a nice 48 hour shift and basically get 2 vacations a month. I work my normal rotation and then get 8 days off. it's wonderful.

My wife is currently finishing nursing school and is graduating in December. We can hardly wait. She has been an LVN for 10 years and is making the jump to RN. When she finishes I get to go back to school and then PA school for me!!

I am also an avid hunter and fisherman. I am really looking forward to deer season this year.

Hello Ken, you are one busy guy. Very happy for your wife's schooling. My wife is an RN too. She is getting burned out after 35 years. Sounds like you have a great family and life. So you are going to be a physician assistant? Wow, good for you. Good luck with all your work ahead. bob

Thanks for sharing so much with us. Sounds like you have a great thing going for you and the family. My daughter is a RN and enjoys her job. I enjoy working with Walnut, also Cherry and Maple. I also love to sit at my scroll saw and create fret work and intarsia projects. Thanks for sharing again. The best of luck to you and your family. Sounds like you guys are on a very happy road through life's journey.

God bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.

Ken I am a big fan of Walnut also. I love the deep color and beautiful grain.

Congratulations to your son and getting his education. That is a great accomplishment and will serve him well in the future. Also congrats on your wife's schooling and best of luck to her in the new position.

I too am a hunter and look forward to the coming season. My son and I have also invested in a couple of English Pointers this year and plan on doing a little quail hunting. I need the walking exercise.

Thanks for jumping in and sharing with us and we look forward to seeing your projects.
