The name here is wysong  as in Wysong & Miles woodworking machinery (pre-ww2)

the real name is John Hutcheson , so I get " Hutch " a lot , just don't ask me where starsky is (so old)

I used to run my own shop for 25 years , but decided to try somethig else when I hit the big 50.

Now I work for someone elso and build chinese kitchens out of a box, the hours are short and the $ is great.

I still have my shop , but it's closing in dec of this year.

It should be real interesting tearing down a shop that took 15 years to build up.

I'm a very new widowed(3 months ) father of one 22 year old  daughter .

I enjoy buying and refurbishing quality woodworking machines, and selling off

to fund my habit/addiction.

I own about 20 ton of machinery in 3 different shops .

told ya it was a sickness

Hutch, go see Dr. Kloes.  He has the cure for what ails ya.

Welcome Hutch, glad to see you here. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. What is going to happen with the 15 yrs of accumulation?

My job is to give my kids things to discuss with their therapist

Hi, Hutch. Glad you are here. Sorry for your loss. Hopefully you will find friends here to help you through it.

Hutch! .. glad to see you and Jack here. I think you will enjoy the site.

20 tons? Yupp, you got the sickness. I am only sittin at about 8 tons in my one shop Grin.gif Almost a ton lighter since I sold my Crescent planer and soon to be a ton and a half lighter when I deliver the Universal Wood-Worker ... looking forward to getting some of my shop space back, darn thing takes up a ton of room.

I like the username ya chose. Wysong and Miles made some great machinery. Did I ever show ya the mortiser I restored? Don't remember if I posted it on OWWM.

Hutch, its great you are here. Sorry to hear about the chinese cabinet business, but I understand. ;>)

Is it hard to work for someone else after being on your own after all these years?

Forget what Ron said about me having a cure. I don't and don't plan on looking for one. Good luck on the refurbishing business. You will do very well. bob
