August 11, 201114 yr I know most of the folks on this forum are hobbyists, but there are a number of professionals about, so I thought I'd post this notice here. This is the time of year that CabinetMakerFDM magazine does its annual Pricing Survey. This is the only survey in the woodworking industry that tries to help woodworkers get a handle on how custom work is priced across North America. This year's survey has four projects: a kitchen, some home built-ins, an alder bar, and a corporate conference table. We're asking shops to bid on any of the projects that are appropriate to their shop and experience. Then we'll print the itemized bids in the magazine, keeping all shops/bidders anonymous except for their state or province. You can read more about the survey and how it works here. You can instantly download a bid package here. But don't procrastinate: The deadline to return bids is August 19. Help fellow shops get a better handle on pricing by participating. The more who participate the better the information. Feel free to share these links with any other pro woodworkers you know. Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me at will.sampson@ccimedia.net. Now back to woodworking...Â
