Wildwood Designs Arcade Clock

Featured Replies

Has anyone here built the Arcade clock?  Have any problems with the plans?

I would like your feedback before I really fuss at them.

Fred I can't help you on this one, hopefully one of the other scrollers can.

I have never done any designs by them. So with out seeing the area you are having trouble with it would be hard to answer. I have done some really complex pieces and the patterns were not the best. If you can better describe the problem you are having I will try and help you out. Just remember the more detailed the description the more likely you are to get help.

Wayne - I have  as well, however, at least there were some instructions or assembly details.  Too much guessing on this one.

Greg - pictures would have to have been actually copying part of the pattern and I think Wildwood would frown on that one.

I really didn't want to slam Wildwood OR the clock pattern.  I was more fishing to see if anyone else had a problem or was it just the copy I received.  That being said:

  • Seemed to be a copy of a copy of a copy instead of a freshly printed pattern of a digital image or pdf file.
  • The pattern, apparently, was for two different insert sizes however they didn't differentiate the size changes on any pattern pieces.
  • On a couple of pieces, there were tabs with no corresponding holes
  • A few lines that were supposed to be straight were very curvy
  • Oh - did I forget that the "suggested" big insert is not even offered any more?

That should do.

Maybe call Wildwood and express your concerns. They may not be aware of a bad copy. I agree on not posting pics of the plans and understand what you are faced with. Sounds like the plans are light in print and some pages may have gotten mixed up somewhere along the line. Keep us posted please.

I have used some of Wildwood Designs in the past but not in about 3 years.  Most of the plans that I had gotten from them the drawings/ copy or what ever were clear.  It just there were never hardly any instructions or anything that hints to the wood thickness or even the type of wood.  The last plan I got from I had what seems like the same problems you are having.  I never did finish that thing.  Finally gave that one up and went on to something els.
