August 23, 201115 yr comment_41532 I picked up a load of lumber today from the saw mill. I had a friend call last week and give me 9 Walnut logs. Another of my good friends help me get it loaded and to the saw mill. I yielded a little over 500 bf of some nice Walnut. Â While at the saw mill, the guy running it ask me if I knew anyone needing some Cherry. Well not being one to miss out on a good deal, I also picked up 200 bf of some really nice Cherry. Â Got a few pieces cut to 8/4 but most of it was 4/4. Â On the 12' Cherry, there was one bad spot so he cut me a break on it. Â Will be a while before I use it but it will be drying in the barn. Most of the Walnut was cut into 8" boards. Â Â Â John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com Report

August 23, 201115 yr Author comment_41536 Well guys you are too late as I got it off the trailer last night. No shop time but stacking lumber. Yea, I have an undisclosed location for my lumber storage. Â Gene I am going to try to get the ends sealed after work today. I for got the sealer when I went over to the barn last night. Â Got another Walnut tree that is coming down today we have to pick up either this afternoon or tomorrow. I am thankful to have a great friend that has a Bobcat loader. Don't know how I would move them without him. Â John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com Report

August 23, 201115 yr comment_41534 Nice book matches John. Keep the logs together. Makes for nice building when the color is all matched. I think you need some 12/4 for bed posts. Cut off the sap as much as possible. Not good for anything other then bugs. bob Bob Kloeswww.bobkloes.com Report
August 23, 201115 yr comment_41533 I'm drooling!  Those are two of my favorite woods - walnut and cherry!  You can't send me a few sample boards?  LOL SQ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing. It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing. Report
