WOODWORKING QUIZ for 23 AUGUST 11 "a learning tool"

Good Morning Friends,

My neighbor was trying to sand some pencil marks out of some plywood and ended up sanding through the veneer.

What could he have done or used that would not hurt the veneer in any way or fashion?

Sanding is not my preferred option. I'll bet his neither, from now on.

He can use alcohol and a rag or, a belt sander cleaner stick.

Or, just an old rubber eraser.   Those big, pink things they use in school.

'and may the road raise up to meet ye'

Didn't think of the cleaning stick. Have one on the bench. I'll try it out next time.

Good Morning All,

10 - 4 on the eraser as well as the DNA for cleaning up pencil marks and one does not need to press so hard on the wood when laying out the measurement. I personally use masking tape in some cases, then all I have to do is pull the tape off after cutting.
