WOODWORKING QUIZ for 29 AUGUST 11"a learning tool"

Good morning Friends,

I could have sworn that I posted a quiz yesterday but I can't find it if I did, so continuing on here is the one for today.

When you are starting to install sheathing on a roof in the form of plywood how far up the trusses would you strike a line with your chalk box and add the facia later so the rainwater would not run behind the facia?

Just a WAG, but I would say about 47-1/4".     That way the plywood would overhang the facia.   IF the facia is a bit thicker, adjust accordingly.

If the facia is a 2 x 6 and will be covered with aluminum- about 46".

Good Morning Fellows,

You both are correct that it all depends on the materials needed for the facia. However under normal use of 3/4" facia boards one would measure 47" to allow  for the drip edge to be well over the facia if one were going to install a facia cap.
