Good Morning Friends,

If a fellow asked you how you install the vinyl base on the walls after laying his floor tile in what ever room he did. What would be your answer?

   and, a notched trowel.

'and may the road raise up to meet ye'

Why?  Because a notched trowel will spread the adhesive better, and the adhesive won't "telegraph" through the base.  You would also want a tube or two of coloured caulking, just to fill in along any gaps between either the floor, or the walls.   You also would want to snap a level line along the walls, makes for a neater looking job that way.   Also, not just any "Liquid Nails" would work,  you want the type MADE for the type of base being installed. These have a longer "open time"  than regular "construction adhesive", and allow some alignment time if needed.

Good Morning Lewis and Steve,

Good answers for sure and The flooring company will also recommend the right mastic/sealant for the job. Steve, your trowel with the grooves in it is most certainly a must for the laminate when press to the wall will get any air out from behind the trim.
