Good Morning Friends.

When running base trim along a wall that is longer than the trim you are using, what type of a cut would you use that would hide the joint better than a common butt joint?

Scarf Joint (I think that's what it is called- 45 degrees from front to back on each piece so the joined piececs over lay each other)

Good Morning Lewis,

You are 100% correct with your answer, however there are those die hard woodworkers who swear that the 45º is good enough and I was one of them till I learned to use the scarf joint. Once the joint is put together and the seam is down to the floor one has to look very hard to even find it.
