I was privileged to receive a phone call from Doug Morgan from Ohio early this afternoon and he said that he had a break in his work while waiting for parts for an MRI that he and another company official was installing in Springfield, MO and did I have time for him to come to Carthage, MO where my bride of going on 41 years Carolyn and I reside and I said come on down.......It is about an hour drive and he pulled in the driveway of my main shed about 3 this afternoon and the rest is history ......... I really enjoyed his visit as we share so many things in common besides our attraction to restoring old woodworking and metalworking machinery that the time flew by. Some of you will remember Doug by the wonderful job of restoration he is doing on his Powermatic 45 wood lathe as shown here:

Here is a couple of pictures below that Carolyn snapped of us standin in my shed before she made me go in and change out of my bib-overhauls and go to supper in Joplin. That's Doug is in the green shirt. We took Doug to one of our favorite eatin places and then we gave him a tour of the devastation of the tornado that hit Joplin in May. I think that Doug will be back in a few days when he takes another break from his work in Springfield, MO.

Doug,

It is neat to meet new folks that share so many of the same interests, but Carolyn and I especially enjoyed your visit and getting acquainted.

Take care my friend and we will perhaps see you again in a few days..........

Thanks ~ Dan

Dan and Doug,

isn't just wonderful to meet in person, build the friendship further and have a great time in the process. Surely one high above had his hand in it.

God bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.

Nice that you both got together. Doug, Dan is quite the guy. I am sure he was not kidding when he said you had a great get together. Glad to see you both got to meet. bob

Doug and Dan there is something very special about meeting one of our own face to face.  Last spring John Moody and I did so and the friendship only continues to build.  Sounds like you two have much in common.
