Good Morning Friends,

When installing a series of garage headers on a 6 car garage. What method would you use to assure that the headers are straight and in line?

I'm thinking the same way I would straighten a wall line.  Use a stringline ( REALLY tight) and some spacers, plus a "free" spacer to check as I go along the line.  I can then adjust the braces until the line-up is straight, then nail on the second (top) plate to keep things straight.

Good Morning Steve,

You are 100% correct as this is the best method to use for most anything one would need to be straight and in line.

It also is great for allowing you to set your trusses to the edge and give one confidence that the over hang will also be in line.
