September 16, 201114 yr Good Morning Friends,When framing a wall for a house how many men or folks would be the safest when raising the wall in place so it can be nailed down and braced true and plumb?
September 16, 201114 yr Ralph, i think it all depends on the situation. With myself, I can raise a 65 - 70 foot long wall in one piece, fully sheeted, with headers, with 2 guys maybe three depending on how many i have on the job. But again it all depends on the situation and what you feel comfortable with and have experience with.

September 17, 201114 yr Author Good Morning Fellows,In my younger year I could lift a wall of most any length depending on how many headers were in it and before raising it I had a 2 x 4 nailed on the top ends of the wall so as I raised it they would follow along to keep the wall from coming back down on me and I usually had a couple 2 x 4s set up on the band boards of the floor to help keep the wall from falling off the floor. However I found that this was not such a good idea for I had to guess that the wall was plumb at the bracing point and ended up calling for some help to get it standing straight and true. You fellows are right on target for the safest methods of raising a wall after constructing it on the floor.
