September 20, 201114 yr I started working on our new bathroom vanity project back in June. But as usual, life kept getting in the way so I got finally got the rest of the bathroom work done and installed it yesterday. I still have to make oak base trim and crown as well as a wall mirror and medicine cabinet mirror in and A&C design, but those can be done without having to take the bath out of commission. The design was modified from a similar vanity that I found online that my wife and I liked. My vanity was made from red oak that was stained and finished with General Finishes Endurovar. The back splash tile are hand painted Mexican tiles in muted colors that fit into the Califronia Arts & Crafts/Craftsman/Bungalow/ Hacienda style. The vessel sink is hammered copper and the faucet is oiled bronze and the knobs are antique brass. The accents pieces are all oiled bronze including the towel bar, toilet paper dispenser, toilet tank handle, soap dispenser, and switch/outlet covers, The important thing is that my wife is happy with it and, therefore, so am I.  This is the inspiration that we found on the web and started with.  Here it is completed and sitting in the Family Room until I got the rest of the bathroom work done (floor tile, grout, wall repairs, texture, primer and 2 coats of finish paint).   Here it is installed. The bathroom is tight, so getting good photos is difficult.  Â

September 23, 201114 yr Awesome job!  Turned out fantastic!  Bet it's nice to have this area completed and looking better than ever.  What's your next project? SQ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
September 23, 201114 yr Author I won't be starting anything new for a few weeks as we have a number of things in the mix family-wise. Our adopted son Christian (one of my son's best friends since Jr. High who pretty much grew up in our house and now is almost 23 and has been living with us full time for the past 4 months) is leaving on the 30th to take a staff position in a church up in northern Calif. as their new childrens and youth minister and will be doing worship there as well. So we have a going away party tomorrow night that we are throwing for him. My wife and I hope to take a short trip the first wek of October up to the Mammoth Lakes area of the Sierra Nevada mountians of California for some much needed R&R. Then I have to get working on stuff to sell for Christmas as I need to make a bunch of cutting boards and kids rocking chairs to sell to the teachers at my wife's school and maybe a couple of local craft shows. After that then I have to finsih up the trim and crown in the bath and make 2 mirrors. Then a I need to make some picture frames. Then I want to start working on a new entrtainment center and then.....well....it gets a bit fuzzy as I have so many other things that my wife and I want to get done that I can't die until 2211. So we will see how things progress from here.SQ said: Awesome job! Â Turned out fantastic! Â Bet it's nice to have this area completed and looking better than ever. Â What's your next project?
