WOOD WORKING QUIZ for 23 SEPT. 11 "a learning tool"

Good Morning Friends,

Now that today is the first day of fall we need to go through the house and do our fall weather checking of the windows and doors for any possible chance of loosing any heat changes due to any form of cold air getting into the home.

However there is the chance that we may over do the situation and that may cause other problems down the road.

How many things can you think of that would cause problems?

You might make it too air tight and have to worry about odors and getting stuffy.

Good Morning Harry,

How right you are and that is not the only thing because if the house is too air tight there could be a problem of moisture forming in the attic that could cause water to soak through the ceiling to a point that you would swear there is a roof leak.

This happened to a neighbor of mine but when he finally installed roof vents in the attic portion of the house the leaks of moisture stopped dripping through. The insulation was so saturated he had to replace most of it over the one room where the moisture came through the ceiling.
