Lie Nielsen Closes Their You Tube Account

Featured Replies

It appears Lie Nielsen has closed their You Tube account and all LN videos are no longer available on our network. It is a sad day for us. This was an incredible resource for us hand tool junkies to tap into. Their videos were the best in the industry, the "How To's" of hand tool use and care were impeccable. I'll personally miss them very much, and I know alot of you guys will too. Now I need to go through our video library and delete them as they do not play anymore.

Thanks LN for the time you did have them available to the general public.

It is a cost issue.

LN can actually make more money producing videos and selling the DVD's they ever could on producing handtools. The cost of producing a DVD is about $3 per DVD and they can turn around and sell each one for $20. So the profit margin is huge compared to selling a handtool that has material and labor costs. They can't sell DVD's if the videos they produce are out on the internet free of charge.

Its not a big deal, just proper business savvy...just too bad for us!!

Actually they contacted me Travis and told me Youtube closed their account for some unknown reason and they are working on getting it back up. Unless you heard otherwise.

Thanks Travis

Well that is good then. Yeah YouTube, they do some funny things sometimes.
