September 25, 201114 yr I love to cook- obvious from my pants size- and always wanted a really nice knife that would not always need sharpening every time it was to be used. The Jantz knife making site has a great collection of supplies and instructions. After much deliberation, I ordered the materials needed to make this knife. It was my first attempt at making a complete knife, although I did  replace a handle for a secretary at work. The  handle is African Blackwood, a Damascus blade in the Hamal Chef style and the "rivets" (pins) are.125" copper and zinc windmill design. The handle was sanded thru 5000 grit and then buffed with Hut PPP White finish.   And it works!! Tomatoes cut with the edge straight from Jantz! Comments, complaints and criticisms are always welcome.  LewÂ

September 26, 201114 yr Awesome knife Lew. I love those rivets. Very nice touch of detail in those. I like the blade too. Looks like it is extremely sharp. Thanks for sharing, that is awesome. John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
September 26, 201114 yr Great job Lew. Pure beauty all the way through and those thin slices of the tomaters speak for the edge. Just a great job.  Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
