September 30, 201114 yr Alright we all know we should wear them, but how many us actually do? I try my best, but in all honesty don't very often, one reason being that both of the respirators I have tend to cause my glasses to fog, and they are not the most comfortable. I received Steve Good's email a couple days ago and he had a review of a mask called the Totobobo mask. Today he had some more info on it and a link to a pastel artist in the U.S. that is a distributer of them, she was having problems breathing caused by the dust from the pastels and evidently tried this mask and since using it has had a lot less problems. The price on the mask from her is $24.95 + 3.00 shipping, this includes 4 extra filters. I am considering trying it out. I read several reviews on it and all seemed to be good. Here's a couple links : http://totoboboartistsmask.blogspot.com/ http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2011/09/more-information-on-totobobo-dust-mask.html Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/

October 1, 201114 yr Greg that looks like a very neat mask. Should you decide to purchase one, I too would be very interested in your opinion. John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
October 2, 201114 yr Author John, I went ahead and ordered it so I hope to see it in a few days and I'll let everyone know what I think of it . Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
October 4, 201114 yr I admit that I don't wear one as often as I should but. Since I discovered I am allergic to Cherry I for sure wear one for it. Left side of my face got as hard as a rock and lips looked like some of the ladies with BO-TOX. Sanding it is about the worst .Nothing else bothers me that I have worked with. I still like to wear one just to keep from coughing a bit some times.
October 7, 201114 yr I use the 3M bulk paper masks, and then only rarely, when sanding a lot. But that one looks as easy to use as the ones I use. Good DC helps, too.

October 8, 201114 yr Author Arlin, I ordered one after reading the review on Steve Goods blog, and it seems that i wasn't the only one. I got an email a couple days ago and she expects to have more in stock by today and start getting them shipped next week. I'll do a review on it when I get it in my hands.  Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
November 11, 201114 yr In most shops dust is only one of the potential problems. I use lacquer for finishing and use an AOsafety R5700 half face mask with a replacable filter for organics. The AOSafety product is dated and filters are stating to become a bit hard to find, but for the same money (about $30) the 3M 7500 series is virtually identical. The organic filter is also particulate rated so it is suitable for dust as well.  Having said that - the referenced  vented paper filters for dust only are good at what they do and if you don't spray or use Minwax (or similar) for finishing the organics may not present an issue for you and the paper will be fine Â
January 7, 201214 yr Author Yep and I need to do a short review on it, which i will try to do next week. But briefly it is very comfortable because of the light weight, and which also makes me more apt to wear it. I haven't had any problems with my glasses fogging either which has been a big problem in the past.D. Kennedy said:So... did you ever get the masks?
January 17, 201214 yr Author I'll get it posted this in the next day or two.Spence Bloom said:Greg, Well... did you get it in your hands? Where is the review? Spence
